About EFF

Adult ESL students are not learning in a vacuum, but rather in the midst of family needs, community obligations, and the demands of work. Our students must learn practical English skills that apply to real-life situations. “Equipped for the Future” (EFF) is a framework for teaching adults. It focuses on what adults need to know and be able to do in their roles as family members, as community members and citizens, and as employees.

EFF Discussion Sheets

Each EFF Discussion Sheet includes vocabulary, background reading, and discussion questions that can be used in a formal classroom setting or in a Talk Time. Use them in whole–class discussion, in partner work, or as a springboard for writing projects.
