East King Consortium Literacy Providers

We collaborate with the other literacy providers in our area to serve as many individuals as possible without duplicating services.

Bellevue Community College is located in Bellevue just north of
I-90 at 148th Ave. SE
Cascadia Community College is just west of I-405 at Beardslee and NE 195th St.
Lake Washington Technical College is in north Kirkland east of Totem Lake.

National Literacy Organizations

National Institute for Literacy (NIFL) This federally sponsored government organization coordinates public and private activities that support the development of high-quality regional, state, and national literacy services.
Literacy AmeriCorps Look here for information about this national service initiative.
ProLiteracy This national organization was formed by the merger of Laubach Literacy and Literacy Volunteers of America. Includes a link to New Readers Press, a source for specialty publications.
Literacy Information and Communication System LINCS brings together dozens of literacy-related databases and web sites into one information system. It also includes more than 50 discussion lists as well as instructional materials on a variety of topics. Our regional resource is called Northwest LINCS.
CAELA Center for Adult English Language Acquisition Look for the articles about ESL instruction and the on-line newsletter of ESL news and resources.
